Photo Emulation.
Melissa Ann Pinney has been a photographer of girls and women for over 15 years. Her photographs represent her past life, struggling to grow up and progress as a young girl with many siblings. Most of her pictures display how girls look up to their mothers and other women and how these other women look back on their experiences as a girl. I like how Melissa used her own experiences and beliefs to shape her photographs. I emulated a photograph by Melissa Ann Pinney within the White Dress Project collection. I attempted to create the same composition as the original with the similar props, position and lighting. For this photo, I used a similar vase with a flower pattern on the vase as well as colorful flowers inside of it. My friend Jamie volunteered to help me by posing as the girl as the photo. This worked out well because she had blonde hair, pale skin and a similar dress. I used my dining room chair which had similar color on the fabric and wood shaping it. I tried to have the light source coming from the same direction (on left.)
